1x12: To Rail Canyon

Previously on Desperate Hedgehogs...

Sonic was punched into an unconcious state by a mysterious black figure. But after Silver and Espio's effort against the figure with the surprising help of Knuckles, the black figure wasn't able to harm them anymore and they retrieved the Chaos Emerald. What will happen when they try to get the Chaos Emerald at Rail Canyon though? And will Vector's hatred towards Silver create a conflict to big to ignore in the group?

Amy is trapped at Hang Castle in what appears to be an eternal world of darkness? But running into Big in the place, they both found an invisible spherical object they think is their ticket out of there. Will they finally get out of what seems to be a prison, or will they stuck in there for more years to come?

Shadow struggles debating whether or not he should just stick with the doctor or sneak behind the doctor to get some info from Rouge. At the end of the day, after a flashback he got after finding out he was in space, he accepted Rouge's offer to gather some info on the doctor's plans for her. Now Shadow knows he's on the Space Colony Ark though. Will this information impact what Shadow does?

Amy

Eternal darkness is something that none of us even want to think about happenning. But those who are blind, or get their eyes damaged, have to experience such tragefy. Unfortunately, this is what Amy Rose had been experiencing. Apparenly, Big and his best friend Froggy have been doing the same, as they all ran into each other.

They may have found some way out though, as Amy and Big stumbled onto an invisible object that feels like the object they used to get there in the first place. But they touched it and nothing happened. This is what they would be doing for awhile, which was trying to make the sphere work.

They just couldn't figure it out though. From touching, hitting, to even chanting spells from children's books. Nothing would work, and it was really getting to Amy in particular.

"Ugh!" Amy yelled. "What the heck is it going to take to make this stupid thing work?!"

"Calm down Amy!" Big told Amy quickly. "We have to think this through slowly if we want to get out of here okay?"

Amy sighed and calmed down. Big was right, yelling at the sphere of all things was going to get her nowhere. She and Big had to work together to get out of this mess. But, what else could they do? She wasn't sure, as she felt like she's tried almost everything in the book. But hey, she does have forever to figure it out.

"Well Big, do you have any other ideas?" Amy asked. "It's not like we've tried every trick in the book."

"Uh.........................................................."

As Big took his sweet time to think, Amy took out her hammer and played around with it. How could something like this have been so helpful to her before? It's just a plain old hammer after all, nothing special about it. Well, that's what she originally thought. Seeing her hammer engulf Shadow's Chaos Blast a year ago sure was a sight to behold. She doesn't even remember how she got this hammer, let alone know how it did that.

Amy began to start swinging her hammer, trying to think of new ways to swing it. But as time passed by, the hammer began to mysteriously glow, which caused Amy to stop, and grabbed Big's attention.

"Amy, what's wrong with your hammer?" Big asked.

"I-I don't know," Amy answered, a bit hesitant. God, what trick was it going to pull now?

Suddenly, the right side of the piko hammer opened up, and all this Chaos Energy suddenly began to flow towards the object. Amy and Big only continued to stare, as the object turned blow, and glowed like it did when the both of them first saw it. Froggy jumped for joy on the top of Big's head.

Amy and Big stared at each other i n shock as the lid on the hammer closed. They both nodded at each other, and slowly walked over to the sphere, with both of their hands touching it simultaneously as a bright light engulfed the room.

Shadow

He really was going to do it. After pledging loyalty to that man, he was finally one hundred percent going behind his back. He was still unsure on whether or not this was the right decision, but he just knew Rouge knew something. He had to get her to keep talking whether the doctor liked it or not.

It was almost bedtime aboard the Ark. Before he wanted to pretend to go to sleep, he wanted to talk to the doctor one more time before following Rouge's orders.

He walked into the repair room, finding Omega to still be laying down on the table. Eggman had stopped working on him though. His back was against the wall with his face looking down at the floor. He was just resting, looking quite exhausted as he yawned.

"Master," Shadow said as he walked in.

"Shadow," Eggman said, turning his head.

"Is Omega alright?"

Eggman nodded and actually smiled, than said, "He apparently just went into shock after seeing something. Guess even the toughest of robots get scared!"

Shadow found that weird yet humorous. Omega, a robot, was actually scared? He found that very hard to believe. "That's a bit difficult to believe Omega by some ghost master." Shadow followed the sentence with a small chuckle.

"Well for his sake, it better have been something quite terrifying," Eggman said. He followed it up with quite the evil laugh.

Shadow laughed only for a short moment before remembering why he was there in the first lace. It was time for the doctor to finally give him some much needed answers. "Um, master?"

"Yes Shadow?"

"I know that you are exhausted, but may I ask you some questions?"

Eggman sighed, h e really was exhausted. But he then answered, "Why of course Shadow."

Shadow then asked the first question to pop up in his head. "Where are we, if I may ask?"

Eggman just answered, "The research center called the Space Colony Ark."

So what Rouge was saying was true. Perhaps the doctor was trustworthy after all. Shadow wondered what else he could get the doctor to answer. "Why does this place seem so familiar doctor?"

Eggman smiled and quickly answered. "It's because this was where you were created Shadow."

Shadow's eyes suddenly widened. He was born here? He was so taken aback by that statement, it wasn't what he was expecting from Eggman's mouth at all. "H-how do you know that?"

"Because it was Gerald Robitnik who made you. In other words, my Grandfather."

Shadow couldn't believe what he was hearing. But it all made sense. It was all coming back to him. That was his creator no doubt. He could feel it. "I see."

"I know this is alot to take in Shadow. I'm the closest to family you have though. Gerald loved you like a child. If he could tell you, he'd say that you are no doubt doing the right thing serving me. He originally created you for the good of man kind. But alas, man kind thought you were too dangerous, and invaded this peaceful research center. They killed many of the people you and Gerald loved abroad this station that day. He would no doubt want you to join me permanently to make those humans pay. Every single one of them."

Shadow just stood silent. Too many emotions were flowing through his head. Suddenly, he had felt all this anger and bitterness rushing through his viens. But strangely, he also had conflicting thoughts, wondering if that's what Gerald would really want.

"Good night, Shadow," Eggman said as he headed for bed, turning off the lights.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sonic/Silver

To Ral Canyon they go. There, they'll find another Chaos Emerald. And there, they'll get closer to making Eggman show up. It's all they wanted, that powerful gem that when united with its six brothers and sisters, would create great power.

Knuckles in particular though was also looking for the Master Emerald pieces. He knew there were some pieces in Rail Canyon, at least that's what his emerald senses told him. But surprisingly, he also felt some pieces were in the area they were in as well.

Sonic, Silver, Knuckles, and the Chaotix were walking through Windy Valley, a valley of floating islands that wind is blowing through everyday. Its lushfull green grass, the plain but fitting roads, and the bridges that connect all the islands. Not to mention the windmills of course.

"Guys, there's Master Emerald pieces here," Knuckles said.

Everyone suddenly stopped walking after hearing Knuckles' words. "Really Knuckles?" Sonic asked, turning to Knuckles.

Knuckles nodded. "Why don't we just sleep here for the night? So I can go and find those pieces. Besides, it's getting late."

Everyone looked at the sky and saw how the sun was setting. It was an orange sky soon to turn dark blue. Maybe Knuckles was right about staying for the night. Alot did happen today after all.

"Sure, we can stay here, right guys?" Sonic asked. Silver and the Chaotix nodded in agreement. It definitely was a very eventful day, resting here would only have positive effects.

Knuckles nodded, and quickly glided off to begin his search. The Chaotix actually took out a very long yet skinny container. Opening it up revealed it to be a tent of some sorts. Although, it wasn't exactly put together, it looked big enough to fit just the Chaotix. The trio began to construct the tent together.

"I wish I broguht one of those," Silver said, chuckling a bit.

Sonic turned to Silver and then said, "Oh no worries. I've been here a long time ago, this isn't a bad ground to sleep on!"

"If you say so." Silver then took a seat on the ground and then procceeded to lay down on the grass. It felt quite comfty to Silver actually even though it was still grass at the end of the day. Which wasn't as soft as it could be sometimes.

Sonic decided to lay down next to Silver. He thought it was time to really get to know him. He liked to get to know the people he was saving the world with after all. "So, where you from Silver? I don't think I've ever seen ya before."

Silver's mind froze. He knew that this wasn't going to be an easy conversation to get through. He barely knew Sonic, and he was working for the government. Silver wasn't going to get turned into the police anytime soon. "Well um...................................I actually don't know," Silver answered.

Sonic found Silver's answer to be a bit strange. "What do you mean?" he asked.

Silver raced in his mind looking for more answers. He wished he was used to this by now. Maybe he should've came to this timeline with a legitimate backstory. "Well, I've travelled the world so much I guess I've kinda lost track."

Sonic actually brought Silver's answer, but for quite the believable reason. "That's basically my life, although I haven't been travelling as much before this adventure started," Sonic said.

Silver sighed. He was glad the questions had ended quickly. Sonic seemed like an easy person to talk to, especially compared to a detective like Vector. Looks like he could have a decent conversation with this fellow hedgehog. "How come? I mean you seem like the kind of guy that would never stop running."

Yet again, Sonic was approached with the dreaded question. Why did he basically stop living life lying down in the Mystic Ruins all day? Sonic didn't know how to exactly answer, but he had to. "I guess it's just not as fun when there's no danger."

Silver found Sonic's comment a bit ridiculous. Especially comparing this time to his time. What right does this guy have to complain about this world being boring? A frown reached Silver's face as he said, "I think that's a terrible thing to complain about. "Silver then stood up.

Sonic stood up too, a bit surprised by Silver's comment. "What cha mean Silver?" he asked in quite an annoyed tone.

"I'm saying it sounds like you're so far up in your head, you're complaing about world peace!"

Sonic was very angry about Silver's voice of words. They had just met, and he was talking to him like he knew him since they were children. "Look, it's not that i'm against world peace, it's just that sometimes it gets a little boring!"

"How dare you! You should be very lucky the world is as peaceful as it is!"

"Why are you talking to me like you know me? I'm on your side here, I'm fighting for world peace too!"

Before the verbally tense conversation could worsen, a certain chameleoon quickly walked up to the two to break it up. Espio ran up to them and said, "Hey guys, what are you talking about?"

Neither Sonic or Silver answered though, as they were both too pre-occupied givng each other the death stare.

Meanwhile, Vector and Charmy were still setting up their tent, leaving the whole fight to Espio to break up. It's not everyday that Sonic was having an argument with someone.

"Boy, who would've known those two wouldn't get along?" Charmy asked watching Espio calm them down.

"Honestly Charmy, it doesn't surprise me that even Sonic can't get along with that guy," Vector said in a surprisingly un-optimistic manner.

Charmy was a bit confused by Vector's words. "Hmm, how come Vector" Charmy asked. "I mean, Silver seems like a pretty cool guy, and what Espio said about him sounds pretty good to me! Besides, he's giving us money!"

Vector kept his very cynical facial expression though, as he was far from jumping onto the Silver train. "You see Charmy, I'm a five star detective."

"No you're not!"

"I didn't ask you for the truth you bumbling bee! Anyway, it takes the smartest criminals to slip under my nose, but Silver ain't one of them, that's for sure!" Vector's eyes then filled with rage showing his determination to bring the end to Silver the Hedgehog.

Amy

The light started to fade to reveal where Amy, Big, and Froggy were at now. They hoped it was reality. They really did. It's felt so long since they saw their friends. The light finally disappeared, and they were indeed back at the castle.

"Oh my gosh, we're back!" Amy shouted with happiness. She immediately hugged Big as tears of joy filled her eyes. Big looked quite happy himself. It was about time they both had gotten out of there.

"I'm so glad you're happy Amy!" Big said.

"Amy!" Two voices had suddenly shouted. Amy quickly turned around to see that those voices were indeed her friends. Tails and Cream along with Cheese were quickly moving towards Amy.

"We've been looking for you all day!" Tails said.

"Are you okay Amy?" Cream asked.

Amy's eyes were filled with overloaded buckets of joy. She went and hugged Cream as tight as she could. Cream had to struggle to get some much needed oxygen.

"A-amy!" Cream struggled to say.

"Sorry Cream, I just missed you so much!" Amy shouted.

"W-why, we only lost you for like 10 hours," Cream said. "Which is still a long time I guess but still!"

Amy suddenly let go, quite shocked by Cream's words. "10 hours? I haven't seen you guys in a year!"

Tails and Cream gave Amy very disturbed looks. Apparently, Amy sounded quite insane to them. But Amy knew that it was a year, to her at least. "You guys are looking at me like I'm crazy," Amy said a bit hurt.

"Amy, are you sure you're not?" Tails asked. "It hasn't been a year at all Amy. Like we said, it's only been 10 hours."

"B-but, that's impossible! It really did feel like a year has gone by! An insane person can't possibly be able to think all that up!" Amy sounded very paniclike. She did not want to be labeled as a psycho, but with the way she talked, she may have seemed that way. And could be that way too.

"Amy Rose is not crazy!" Big defended. "I was with her. We touched this blue shiny thingy and got to this really dark place."

Tails' eyes suddenly widened. It seemed like something Big said sparked something in his mind process. "Do you mean the Eternal Land of Darkness?"

"The what?" Amy asked.

"The Eternal Land of Darkness," Tails repeated. "This is a land that exists in another dimension that's reachable only through this location. Likewise, they were just rumors. Noe of the researchers could find this mysterious blue sphere. But I guess you guys have, and it sounds like quite the experience."

Amy sighed in relief. She's glad that she was not crazy after all. There was nothing worst to her then being labeled as such at the moment. She was just glad that it was all over. "So 10 hours out here was a year in there. That's amazingly absurd."

Everyone laughed at Amy's comment. It was great that the whole gang was together again. Tails was quite intrigued by what Amy had said. He then said, "I never heard of the theory of time passing faster in that dimension. That's really interesting. I'm going to have to write that down!"

And just like that, Tails took out a notebook and began writing down his findings. Everyone finally quieted down so Cream could then say, "It's so great to see you Mr. Big! Would you like to join us in finding the Chaos Emeralds and stopping Dr. Eggman?"

Big, being the simple minded creature he was, said, "Okay. Froggy will join us too!"

"Alright, this'll be fun!" Amy said. "I'm exhausted though, so let's go find a good place in the woods to sleep in," Amy said. Somehow, the idea of sleeping in the woods at night didn't bother her. She guessed being in eternal darkness, she was kind of used to it.

"I-in the woords?" Cream asked hesitantly.

Amy immediately noticed Cream's fear. She forgot that they were traveling with a child for a second. "Oh Cream, if it's too scary, we can go to your mom's house and rest there. We'd have to walk for awhile but..."

"No!" Cream yelped. "Don't worry Amy, I'll be fine! I'm not scared."

Amy was a bit taken aback by Cream's answer. Looks like Amy had no choice here, she had to listen to Cream, who sounded very determined to do this, whether or not she thought it was right for her or not.

Amy

2 AM in the morning. The last bunch of people are finally in their sleep. The great majority however are already fast asleep, waiting to get up when the sun comes up in just a few more hours.

In the deep dark woords, there lied a pink hedgehog, a peach rabbit, a purple cat, an orange and yellow fox, a Chao, and a frog. They were all fast asleep. Well, almost all of them were anyway. One of them just couldn't fall asleep, as too many things were on his or her mind.

This person suddenly began to cry. They were trying to hold back their tears, but this person just couldn't hold it in. The sound definitely sounded familiar, and Amy Rose woke up and recognized the person crying right away. It was her best friend, letting those tears fall out of her eyes.

"Cream?" Amy whispered as she walked over to her. "What's wrong?"

Cream then replied, saying, "It's nothing," as she was trying but failing to cover up her tears.

Amy sighed. She wished Cream could see the reality. She was a kid, it was okay for her to be scared of sleeping in the woods of all places. "It's okay Cream," Amy said.

"No, it's not okay!" Cream said angered. "My mom is right, I'm still the same kid I was when you first met me. I thought when you got older, you're supposed to be braver than this."

Amy couldn't help but sigh again. She really didn't like what was coming out of Cream's mouth. But it was the sad reality. "Cream, you're only eleven years old. It's okay to be scared, even when you're a grown-up!"

"How can you be so sure Amy? Grown-ups are never scared."

Amy shook her head instantly, highly disagreeing with what Cream was saying. "That's not true Cream. Grown-ups can get scared too."

Cream paused for a bit. She then asked, "Are you sure?"

Amy nodded, then followed it up by saying, "Sonic was scared when he was trying to save the world fromt he crashing Ark. Knuckles gets scared when the Master Emerald goes missing. Big gets scared when he loses Froggy. All grown-ups get scared at one point Cream, it's just the matter of admitting it."

Cream just sat silent, trying to process what Amy had just said to her. Maybe Amy did have a point. Maybe grown-ups really do get scared.

"Don't be in such a rush Cream," Amy said as she smiled and put her hand on Cream. "Your mother was only thinking of you when you two were arguing."

Cream sighed. Amy was right. But she really dreaded the idea of being on the wrong end of the argument. But she really did not want to sleep in the woods anymore. That she was not ready for.

"Can we go to my mom's Amy?" Cream asked.

Amy nodded to answer. "I'll go get everyone up and we'll get going." Amy then got up, and proceeded to wake the team up.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shadow

Meanwhile up in space, everyone was fast asleep in the Space Colony Ark. Everyone, except a certain black hedgehog named Shadow. He laid in bed with his eyes closed, but he never actually fell asleep, as he didn't exactly have to. He wasn't at all tired. He wanted to get this over with though, as he knew it would only be a little longer until he'd yawn.

He opened his eyes when he felt it was time to do this. He then got out of his bed, removing the plain blanket from his legs. The bed was rather small, but it fitted Shadow's size perfectly. Perhaps this was the bed he used to sleep on...

He excited the room quickly. As he walked through the hallway, he could hear Eggman's loud snoring. He thought it was like nails on a chalkboard. How could someone snore so irritatingly loud? Shadow just decided he did not want to know and was glad he couldn't hear it in his room.

He walked by the room Eggman was still working on omega in. Shadow could still see Omega lying on the table. It seemed like Omega wouldn't wake up for awhile. Shadow hoped that it would stay that way.

He entered the computer room. It sure was a big room. It was like an electronic library, as he was surrounded by bookcase like structures. There were green lights on them, but they were turned off. The walls had their fair share of lights as well. Shadow thought this would look like a matrix if all the lights turned on.

He finally reached the computer in the center. It was quite large. Could all of those black objects be hardrives for this one enormous computer? It seemed very possible, looking at the size of the thing.

Shadow sat in the chair in front of the monitor. He could see the keyboard was a part of the monitor. He wanted to quickly get in and out, so he turned on the computer immediately. He could see the log in screen, and immediately began typing.

"M-A-R-I-A," Shadow said as he typed the password.

Maria, that name felt so familiar and important to him. But, he couldn't remember why. It frustrated him, no doubt. He could worry about that later though. He had to get out of that room as soon as possible. He knew better than to go behind the doctor's back.

He took the black electronic device Rouge had given him. He studied the device, wondering what it exactly was. Was this really such a good idea? Was it necessary to go behind the doctor's back like this? After all, Shadow didn't know what exactly this device was.

Shadow immediately scrapped the conflicting thoughts and inserted the device. He just focused on the task itself from then on out. He watched the monitor as the device got to work. He saw a bar appear on the screen, as a green color filled more and more of it.

As soon as the bar completely filled with green, Shadow pulled the device out. He logged off and quickly exitted the room. It was done, no turning back now.

Ten minutes later, a white bat named Rouge was still sleeping in her prison cell. But she was surprisingly interrupted, when Shadow had entered the room, and patted on her head to wake up. Rouge resisted opening her eyes but she came around.

"Ugh, I'm busy!" Rouge complained.

Shadow held the device in front of Rouge. Once she noticed the device that was dangling in front of her, she immediately fully woke up and slowly took the device from Shadow's hand. She took a look at the data on it, and saw that it was all there.

"I followed your request, now I want some answers," Shadow said.

"You've done well Shadow," Rouge said as she clicked a button on the device. "Hit me."

"But suddenly, the two could hear a robotic like noise. The two turned to the door and saw that E123-Omega was standing there, fully activated.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sonic

3 hours later, the sun would be rising, and it'd be almost time for people to start getting up. For Sonic, Silver, Knuckles, and the Chaotix, they were looking to get up as soon as possible. As they would then immediately head for Rail Canyon.

Sonic was the first to get up. He liked to start his day as soon as the sun came up. Running in the dark was exciting and all, but he preferred his environment with a bright blue sky and colorful environments. He sat up and yawned. Time to get up.

He looked to his left and found out he was not the only one up. Knuckles landed on the island after gliding towards it, with quite a few Master Emerald pieces. He breathed rapidly, his eyes barely open.

"Knuckles?" Sonic asked as he ran over to him. "You look terrible. Did you get any sleep at all?" Sonic had quite a sense of worry in his voice. He no doubt knew Knuckles didn't feel so well.

Knuckles hesitated for a bit, but he gave in and shook his head. "No, I had to search all of Windy Valley for these pieces. I just could not find that last piece til now. But I found it."

"Knuckles, your eyes can barely stay open," Sonic claimed. "Why didn't you just come rest and continue searching in the morning? We wouldn't mind taking a little longer to get to Rail Canyon."

"Well, I would have," Knuckles said slightly annoyed. "Look, you don't have to worry about me. All that matters is that the Master Emerald is safe from harm's way. But it has to be put back together for that to be true. So I can't rest for one second."

Sonic wasn't going to give up so easily. He knew Knuckles working himself this hard was bad for him. "Knuckles, you're right. The Master Emerald IS really important, and it has to be restored as soon as possible. But don't forget, you are a living breathing creature. You have limitations, and sometimes, you can't do everything as well as you wish you could.

"It's okay to take breaks and enjoy the world every now and then. You deserve to be able to live as much as everyone else you are protecting can. The only person stopping you from actually doing that is yourself."

Knuckles and Sonic looked at each other for quite awhile. Sonic tried to read Knuckles' facial expressions, but all he could see was that Knuckles was deep in thought. What Knuckles was thinking, Sonic could tell a single part of.

Knuckles suddenly looked quite annoyed however. It looked like Sonic's words didn't help very much. "Sonic, no one is asking you to be my psychiotrist. So if you wouldn't mind, I'm going to get the sleep I can get until we head off for Rail Canyon. Can you do that for me Sonic? Instead of doing whatever you want like you usually do?"

And just like that, Knuckles stormed off to a spot on the island far away from Sonic. It was obvious Knuckles was not in the mood to talk to someone about such things. Even if it was beneficial to him.

Sonic could understand where Knuckles was coming from. He hated being told to do things himself, learning that over the past five years from people that told him to get off his back and make something out of his life.

Sonic just decided to put the issue aside, and laid back on the grass to get in a small nap. It didn't seem like everyone would be getting up anything soon. He had to start sleeping in apparently with this group.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Silver

About an hour later, the sky was finally as blue as the eye can see. A certain green crocodile suddenly sat up and let out a loud and obnoxious yawn. It work up the people around him, which were Espio and Charmy.

"What was that noise?" Charmy asked annoyed.

"It was Vector," Espio said, with quite the unhappy look on his face. "Thank you for the wake up call Vector."

Vector looked at the two fellow members in his Chaotix Detective Angency team in his tent and laughed. He hadn't meant to wake them up at all. But then again, he wasn't exactly thinking about their needs either. "Eh, sorry guys!" Vector said. "A crocodile's gotta yawn though!"

Suddenly, Silver had put his head into the tent to see what the noise was all about. "Guys, why are you being so loud?" Silver asked sounging a bit happy yet a bit annoyed.

"Someone here decided to wake up with a bang," Charmy said, sounding quite grumpy. Charmy then gave a death stare towards Vector, to show Silver who he was talking about.

Silver chuckled, he seemed to be in a pretty good mood this particular day. "Well, looks like someone has to keep their mouth shut," Silver jokingly said.

Vector didn't get the joke though. He saw it as another cheap move to try to get him to let his guard down. Vector was not going to have any of that today. He wanted Silver to cry his guts out. "So Silver, how old are you?" Vecotr asked.

Silver thought Vector had asked quite a strange question. He didn't see anything wrong with it though. "Um, I'm 19," he answered.

Vector knew what he was doing. He then asked, "What are the names of your parents?"

Silver wondered why Vector would ask such questions. He was cautious. "I don't know," Silver answered.

"Why don't you know?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Why not Silver? Nothing that bad could be the fault of your parents."

Silver didn't like what he had just heard. Offended as he was, he exitted the tent to get some air.But Vector was just getting started, as he followed Silver out of the tent.

"Is there Silver?" asked Vector.

Silver finally turned around, a bit annoyed. "Why do you want to know so much about me? My parents don't concern you and you're pissing me off with how much you want to know."

"It's because I don't trust you. And since apparently you get Espio to fall for your little act, I'm going to have to to yank the truth out of you before you do anymore damage!"

Silver felt very offended. Talk about being read on the wrong end of the spectrum. "Look, I can assure you I'm on your side! You have to believe me!"

"Then Silver, why all the secrets? Why don't you ever tell us anything? You wouldn't talk about what you said back at the Pyramid Base and you actually told me to shut up when I wouldn't stop asking questions."

"Maybe you don't have to know what that is all about!"

"Yeah, because you're not who you want us to think you are!"

"What's going on?" Sonic asked as he walked up to the two arguing. "I'm trying to sleep here and you guys are literally screaming! Please let Knuckles get his rest." Sonic was a bit cranky, but he also didn't want any conflicts in the team. He wanted to stop Eggman, so they had to trust each other to do so.

Espio and Charmy then came out of their tent to see what the commotion was all about. Espio himself already knew though, what he had just entered.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shadow

It was so unexpected. But it happened. Right there and now, Shadow had been exposed. Omega saw it all with his own eyes. At least, that's what Shadow automatically assumed when he saw Omega at that door.

"O-Omega, when did you wake up?" Shadow asked, while trying to calm his nerves down.

"When I saw you walk past my door," Omega said in his usual robotic tone.

Shadow didn't want to hear the answer to his next question, but he just had to know. "Did you follow me all the way here as soon as you got up?" Shadow asked.

Omega just nodded in return, saying absolutely nothing. Not letting out a single sign of what he was thinking. That must've been quite the advantage of being a robot.

Shadow obviously hated that however. He just assumed that Omega was upset because of what he had seen. "Omega, I can explain," Shadow said.

"What is there to explain?" Omega suddenly asked.

Shadow, a bit shocked by Omega's sudden words, asked, "What do you mean?"

"I already saw everything that you wouldn't tell me. I saw what you did Shadow."

Shadow kept up a strong face, but he let a small gulp escape down his body. Shadow felt very uncomfortable at the moment.

"I saw you go into the computer room, and you inserted that device into it, which I identified as an Xcollector 5000, which is built to specifically extract data from a hardrive."

Shadow had a look of shock as he turned to Rouge. Shadow may have had an idea that it would do that, but he still was shocked by actually hearing the truth. Rouge just kept this plain expression on her face, not surprised to see Shadow's reaction.

Shadow turned back to Omega, who was still standing in the same spot and position he was in before. Shadow didn't know what to say now. Lying wasn't an option, he just couldn't at the moment.

"So, are you going to tell Eggman?" Shado was prepared for a yes to that question. But, he wa sprepared to fight if that were to be the case.

Omega responded with, "Negative."

Shadow was so taken aback by that answer. No? Omega couldn't have been serious.....could be? "E-excuse me?"

"I said negative, I will not report to Dr. Eggman," Omega expanded.

"B-but w-why?" Shadow struggled to ask.

"You don't realize what you did for me Shadow," Omega answered.

"What did I do Omega?"

"At Hang Castle, what happened to me was that this sensation suddenly occured in my circuits when I had spotted this supernatural creature. To save myself from my circuitry overloading, I shut myself down. But I would've only stayed repairable for ten minutes or my systems were permanently damaged. You came, just in time."

Shadow was quite amazed to know that. He was happy to have saved Omega's life. He was also relieved that Omega was apparently not going to spill. "So, that's why you won't tell?"

Omega then said, "Affirmative. But, there is also one other reason."

Shadow's eyes widerned. "What's that?"

"Being Dr. Eggman's most prioritized robot, I have information you don't. What the doctor is doing to you.............it is not right."

Shadow was really shocked after hearing that. He had to know what Omega meant right away. "Wait, Omega, what do you mean?!" Shadow asked, panicked.

That was when Omega had left the room though. It was apparent Omega wasn't supposed to say that. But Omega had said it, and Shadow was unfortunately left with tons of questions, and concerns.

Amy

The sun shined on Station Square, which obviously is still in deep repair. But it was getting better. All the fires were washed, smashed cars were removed, buildings were being reconstructed, and Eggman's fleet was slowly being removed piece by piece.

In a house that was in a relatively undamaged area, there were more people in there then there usually were. It was the house of Vanilla the Rabbit, which Amy, Tails, Big, Cream, Cheese, and Froggy went to sleep at for the night.

Amy just got out of the bathroom after washing herself up for a bit. She felt so refreshed as she walked down the stairs, seeing how everyone was at the table eating some of Vanilla's famous apple pancakes. Amy was dying to eat some just looking at them.

"Vanilla, these are delicious!" Tails said with a smile.

Vanilla laughed sounding very flattered and said, "Why thank you Tails! You should come here more often and I'd be happy to cook for you!"

Tails laughed and answered, "Sounds like a plan to me!"

"Big, is Froggy enjoying the tea I made for him?" Vanilla asked, facing Big.

Big nodded as he saw Froggy drinking the tea with no intention to stop. "Yes he is, thank you," Big said in his usual happy and sluggish tone.

"Hey guys," Amy said as she came to the table and took a seat.

"Good morning Amy," Vanilla said. "Did you sleep well in Cream's room?"

"Yeah, it was great!" Amy said. She started to eat her pancakes. They were still fresh from the oven, as Amy enjoyed every single bite.

"I was so surprised to see you guys at my door so late at night," Vanilla said. "But of course, my house is always wlecome to Cream and her friends. I'm just glad Cream agreed it was safer here."

Suddenly, Cream put down her fork and knife on her plate. Without saying a word, she left the table and walked quickly to the living room. Everyoned looked shocked, while Vanilla looked both shocked and upse.t

"Ugh, what did I say this time?!" Vanilla asked in frustration.

"I'll talk to her," Amy said as she got up and walked to the living room. Amy thought of how much more complicated Cream was getting. It was ridiculous, she was going to sort this mess out right now.

Cream sat on the couch in the living room as she focused her eyes on a private picture of her and her mom five years ago in her right hand. They looked so happy. She sighed as she put the picture down on the table.

Amy took a seat next to Cream and then said, "Cream, why did you leave the table? What was wrong with what your mom said this time?"

Cream sighed and replied, "It's not true. I decided to come here not because it was dangerous, but because I was scared. She was right, and I hate it."

Amy knew this attitude much too well, having been Cream's age once. In fact, she still had that attitude now. But she was determined to make Cream know it was okay. "Cream, you're young, you were wrong," Amy said. "There's no escaping mistakes, especially with people your age. Trust me, I've made plenty."

"I know, it's just that I hate the feeling of making my mom go through all that Amy. Like, I just can't even look at her face without the fear of disappointment."

"Cream, you mom loves you very much and no matter what, you have to know that is true. Actually, I think if you went and said sorry to her, she would be very proud of you for admitting you have mistakes."

Cream sighed. "I guess you're right Amy."

"So let's just go to the dining room, and you tell your mom what's on your mind, okay?"

Cream nodded, as she grabbed Amy's hand and they both walked into the dining room to see that everyone was looking at them as soon as they entered the room. Amy and Cream took their respective seats, and Cream began to speak.

"Mom, can I tell you something?" Cream asked.

"Why of course sweety, what is it?" Vanilla answered.

"I'm sorry I've been so mean to you lately. I guess I just wanted to be a big girl, and do big girl things mom. But, I know you were just trying to protect me, and I'm going to try to appreciate that a little more."

Amy looked at Cream, thinking of how proud she was of her. They definitely grow up too fast.

"Oh, well thank you sweety, it's okay. I'm just glad that you're speaking to me again. I accept your apology." Vanilla then smiled at Cream, glad to have her daughter back.

Cream smiled in return, but she wasn't quite done yet. "But mom, after breakfast, I have to keep traveling with Amy."

"What? Why?"

"Because Mom, I know it is dangerous, but Amy is my friend. She needs my help, and I want to help her as much as I can. Because that's what friends do for each other. I know you'll be worried, but just know that Amy will take good care of me. Along with Mr. Big and Mr. Tails."

Vanilla sighed, as she still wanted Cream to stay home with her. She said, "Well Cream, I still don't agree with your idea, but Amy is a good person. And I guess I wouldn't feel right to denying her your help. You can go with Amy Cream, but please be careful!"

Cream then got off her chair, and went to give her mom a hug. "Thanky ou Mom!"

Amy smiled at the reunited rabbits. She was so glad that they were on speaking terms again. But they would be back to business after this breakfast is over, and Amy felt ready for that.

Sonic/Silver

Silver and Vector just stared at each other on the lone floating island intensively. While everyone else just stared at the two. Except Knuckles, who was sleeping in a spot on the island far from the conflict.

"Well Sonic, it is with my concern Silver here isn't telling us everything we should know about him," Vector answered, still in his condifent yet angry tone. "If, that is your actual name."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Silver asked, sounding quite annoyed. In his eyes, Vector was being a complete jerk and quite the annoyance. Why couldn't he realize that him not telling every single detail about his life was beneficial? Why couldn't Vector just shut up?

"it means that my detevtive skills tell me you're up to no good, and if you're not willing to talk, it only means I'm correct! So Silver, is there any reason you won't explain a thing?"

Silver really wished he could tell it all. He wished he could prove to Vector his 'detective skills' were very off this time around But Silver knew better then to tell people like Vector he was from the future. Soon, everyone would find out he was the future guy, and he'd change the timeline more then was necessary.

"It's for you own good you don't know everything about me, otherwise it will pause our goal of stopping Eggman!"

"Hmm, so there IS something bad you did," Vector had concluded.

"How do you know it's something bad?" Silver asked. Silver was furious with Vector at this point. Silver really hoped he could win this argument.

"Well, why else would you not tell us? Why keep it a secret if it's nothing bad?"

Silver was about to respond, but he then realized he didn't know what to say. How could you argue against Vector's logic without telling the truth. He had to decide what to do at this very moment.

"Well Vector, let's just say I'm not supposed to be here," Silver had answered.

Vector wa slooking a bit more satisfied. It looked like he felt that he was getting somewhere. But it was nowhere near enough for him. "Why is that Silver?"

Silver wasn't surprised that wasn't enough for Vector. In fact, Silver really wished he could make Vecotr disappear in the blink of an eye.

No, he begged himsef. Not this Silver. Do not let your emotions get the best of you. Do not let him win. Do not do anything that'll tamper with your mission! He didn't want to give in to the temptation, but.....it wouldn't go away. He eyes were on fire as he began to lift up rocks with his powers.

Shock went across Sonic, Espio, and Charmy's faces, but Vector strangely didn't show much of a reaction. Right before Silver made that huge mistake and threw those rocks, he was immediately knocked down as the rocks fell to the floor.

He was then liefted up, and he suddenly felt these metal bracelts go on his wrists. He suddenly realized what was happening as he turned around and saw some GUN soldiers, and realized his hands were tied by handcuffs.

"Silver the hedgehog, you are under arrest for having the intention to kill an innocent," says one GUN soldier.

"W-what?" Silver asked in shock.

"You have the right remain silent, anything you say can and will be used in court."

Silver was taken into the GUN plane that had just landed on the island with the GUN soldiers. As he was taken away from the island, shock was on everyone's faces. Except Vector's, which had a small grin of pleasure.
